Atleticos made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Vaqueros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Nate Mason (188-1995, college: Minnesota) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 6 assists. Power forward Josue Erazo (204-1995, college: PR-Rio Piedras) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Javier Gonzalez (185-1989, college: NC State) replied with 22 points and 5 assists and American center Marvin Jones (213-1993, college: Texas Southern) added 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) in the effort for Vaqueros. Four Atleticos and five Vaqueros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

They outrebounded Gigantes 40-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. Mets players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Gary Browne (185-1993, college: WVU) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international guard Jaysean Paige (188-1994, college: WVU) who added 26 points during the contest.
